The “Pirate of Brittany” project was rolled out across four beaches in Brittany (Lorient, Fouesnant, Sarzeau and Pléneuf-Val-André) in order to meet several objectives:
- Providing easy access for children to water sports, with no time commitment, no booking required.
- Developing young people’s water skills
- Breaking cultural codes by using the beach, a place accessible and frequented by all, as a starting point for water activities, freeing ourselves from water-based structures, which sometimes carries an elitist image.
Games on the beach and games on the water allowed children to discover a maritime dimension to the world of the sea.
