CAPITEN DAY – Madeira

CAPITEN DAY – Madeira

On 16 August, ACIF-CCIM, within the framework of the Capiten Project, funded by Espaço Interreg Atlântico, in partnership with On Water Academy, Porto Santo Line, Clube Naval do Funchal e Clube Naval do Porto Santo organised the “Capiten Day” event  on Porto Santo Island with a view to offering an array of water-based activities  to the people at the beach.

The event was intended to allow people to try stand up paddle surfing, kayaking or sailing for free.
These activities, monitored by the On Water Academy and Porto Santo Naval Club, took place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm on one of the island’s most popular beaches.
It was a fantastic day filled with sunshine and sea breezes, allowing many children and adults to try some of the activities on offer. For most of them, it was their first time trying them.
In the evening, we held a party for those involved in the water-based activities and those involved in the regatta which took place at the same time, between Madeira and Porto Santo.
On Water Academy is a local company offering truly stunning water-based experiences on Porto Santo Island. Porto Santo beach is an excellent example of a perfect bay to enjoy and learn water-based activities in safety.
Certified by Tourism of Portugal, local and Sports Technicians authorities, On Water Academy also has a beach club for relaxing and rehydrating after being on the water.
